Folded clay petals open from a single centre, each one pressed and shaped by hand, holding its crease. The form is compact and low, closer to a bud than a bloom; something caught at the moment before it fully opens. Sculpted from air-dry clay and sealed with a protective sealer, the surface carries a soft, chalky white.
A small kenzan rests inside, ready to hold stems in place: a few garden cuttings, dried grasses, or twigs found on a walk. Each piece folds differently. No two are the same.
