Popovych Handmade

Some things are born in the quietest hours. In the stillness after work, at a small loom, with a handful of beads and something that needed to be held onto.

Maryna Popovych puts deep meaning into every beaded piece she creates.

She began creating jewellery professionally almost immediately after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine in 2022. In that moment, she deeply felt how important traditions and culture are for her people. She sees it as her mission to preserve these traditions and share them with as many people around the world as possible.

With just a bead loom and a small supply of beads, she started her journey as an artisan from scratch. Every evening after work, she would sit at home and weave with great joy, constantly experimenting and improving her designs. Soon, her dedication was recognised. Orders began to grow. Bead weaving became not only her greatest passion but also her profession.

Today, she is proud of the quality of her work and the original designs she has developed. Her collections include traditional Ukrainian jewellery, necklaces known as gerdan and sylianka, and brooches called kotylion, alongside more contemporary pieces such as bracelets, earrings and keychains.

Each ornament is inspired by antique Ukrainian artefacts found in museums, embroidered shirts and ritual towels, mosaics, carpets and ceramics. Every journey across Ukraine and every museum visit inspires her to create new weaving patterns.

Her jewellery is her passion and her soul, woven into every piece. She would be delighted to create something special just for you.
