Some stories begin with great plans. This one began with a small boy who wanted to make something beautiful for his friends.
Olha Shpak is the founder of StarLing bodycare, and the brand carries her surname quietly within it, since Shpak is starling in English. But the name holds more than one meaning. Star and ling (a small flowering heather plant) together they speak of something natural, something that grows close to the earth. That is exactly where Olha's work begins.
Her studio is in Kyiv, and everything she makes is made by hand.
In 2021, her son made small flower and butterfly soaps as spring gifts for his classmates, and Olha, catching that same spark, trained in the craft and never stopped. Skills grew slowly, knowledge deepened, and word began to travel, first among friends, then further, carried by the quiet momentum of people who had found something they loved.
Today the workshop offers more than twenty varieties of handcrafted cold-process soap, body scrubs and whipped body butters, a full hair care line of solid shampoos, conditioning masks, detangling spray and tip wax, a regenerating lip balm, soy wax aroma sachets, bath bombs and solid bath foam, and souvenir soap in the form of figures, bouquets and compositions. From all of these, gift sets can be built to any taste and any budget.
Because natural products have a limited life, most pieces are made to order. What reaches you is fresh, carefully made, shaped around your preferences.
