Collection: Whitby Morning

There is a moment, early in the morning in Whitby, before the town wakes. The shopfronts are still closed, the cobbled streets feel fresh and empty, and a crisp stillness hangs over the harbour. Something in us settles. We want to pause, to breathe in that quiet sea air, to hold onto the peace before the day begins.

Each piece is hand-shaped. The colours are drawn straight from those early hours: muted harbour greys, pale morning blues, the soft neutrals of weathered stone, and the deep, watery tones of the North Sea. To paint them, we turned to flowing watercolours and Derwent Graphitint paint, made in Keswick in the heart of the Lake District. Two corners of the North, meeting again in a piece of air-dry clay held in the hand.

The collection features sculptural vases, bud vases, stem holders, clay diffusers, original paintings. Hidden within some of these pieces are repurposed glass bottles - our contribution to the circular economy, ensuring that the art we make treads lightly on the coast that inspires it. No two are exactly the same.
