Collection: Lavender

There is a moment, each summer, when the lavender comes into bloom in Yorkshire. Something in us stirs. We want to stop, to breathe it in, to reach out and touch it. This collection was made for that feeling.

The colours came first, drawn straight from the fields; soft purples, cool greys, watery blues, pale pink. To paint them, we turned to Derwent graphite paint, made in Keswick in the heart of the Lake District. Something felt right about that. Two corners of the North, meeting in a piece of clay held in the hand.

Each piece is hand-sculpted and painted slowly. Some surfaces carry acrylic, others Derwent graphite, the pigment settling into the texture of the clay like light settling into stone. No two are the same.

The collection includes vases for dryed lavender, bud vases, stem holders, jewellery dishes, each one shaped by hand. Alongside them, greeting cards and small art pieces, some handmade, some printed, all carrying the same lavender mood.
